1982 VW Rabbit - Rear - Hatch Open
You can see the soft warm glow of the overhead dome light. What you can't see is the almost-indiscernable glow of the luggage area light, which comes on when the hatch is open. These cars only have one hatch support, and this one is nearing the end of its useful life - if the car is sloped uphill, or it's below 50 degrees or so, the hatch shuts on your head. This is not as bad as it seems if you're used to it and remember to hold it open. The support is not an expensive part to replace, but a stick to hold it open is cheaper and never wears out.
