1982 VW Rabbit - Rag and Oil Storage Area
I don't think this was the intention of the engineers, but this makes a great place to keep rags and oil bottles. Yes, that was once someone's underwear, but it is now a lowly rag. You can see the wiper motor under there, and that is a red plastic battery post cap on the coolant reservoir, not some growth out of it.
