1982 VW Rabbit - Underside of Hood
A belt must have broken sometime in this car's history, as you can see the torn insulation/sound deadening on the underside of the hood directly over the belts. It's been semi-repaired and hasn't given me any trouble. Some of it is also wet - maybe some oil or diesel fuel sprayed into it at one point?
